Library 2.0

Being a reader and old "paper hugger", I chose to print out some of the discussions of Library 2.0 to read later.
I am enjoying pondering how I might change my current assignments with Web 2.0 tools.
I am still wrapping my brain around how to deliver training to seniors, language-challenged adults, and technophobes using a primarily online set of tools. Got to get them to the tools first.
More thoughts on this later.

I explored the Technorati website and favorites and claiming and choose not to tag my blog with this tool.

Delicious

I added the delicious html code to my blog page. I created a del.icio.us account and set up some favorites. I emailed them and asked how to alphabetize my favorites.

Search engine for a small genealogy search

I created two search engines for genealogy searches -- the genealogy websites are very proprietary and it is difficult to have Rollyo search the subscription sites for data that I know is there. Few results and lots of ads.

LibraryThing

Today I explored LibraryThing and created entries for two of the books I am currently reading.
The future of libraries is doomed.
